Custom Logo on a Jewelry Box: Gold Foil vs Embossed vs Silk-Screen vs Woven Jacquard

Four logo applications, four different unit-cost increments, and four very different brand stories. Here's how to choose.

The cheapest way to put your logo on a book style jewelry box is silk-screen. The most distinctive way is to weave your logo directly into the cover fabric — but the cost difference between the two is roughly 4×. This article breaks down where each application makes economic and brand sense, with the rough unit-cost increment we've seen across our wholesale book style box line.

The four logo methods, in plain English

  • Gold foil stamping. A heated die presses metallic foil into the cover material. Most popular on PU and velvet. Longest-lasting visual; logo reads as "luxury" instantly.
  • Embossed (debossed). A die presses the surface, creating a tactile indentation (or raised bump for embossed). No ink. Works on PU and leather.
  • Silk-screen printing. Ink pushed through a mesh onto the surface. Cheapest; full-color capable; less durable.
  • Woven jacquard. Your logo is woven into the cover fabric during production. Most distinctive, longest lead time, requires 300+ pieces for woven logos.

Where each makes economic sense

For our book style jewelry boxes, the rough unit-cost increment we've seen is:

  • Silk-screen: baseline + ~USD 0.05–0.10 / piece. Works down to MOQ 100.
  • Gold foil: + ~USD 0.15–0.25 / piece + USD 50 die fee. Works down to MOQ 100.
  • Embossed: + ~USD 0.20–0.35 / piece + USD 80 die fee. MOQ 100.
  • Woven jacquard: + ~USD 0.40–0.80 / piece + USD 200 loom setup. MOQ 300 for woven logo (lower for plain jacquard).

Matching method to brand story

Logo application does more than brand the box — it shapes the unboxing moment. Here's how we frame it when a buyer asks.

If you sell at $10–$25 retail price

Silk-screen your logo in 1–2 colors. The unit cost advantage compounds across the order and the customer reading "Misslanonly" or "Your Brand" doesn't change buying behavior at this price tier. Save the gold foil for higher-margin SKUs.

If you sell at $25–$60 retail price

Gold foil stamping is the workhorse. It reads "premium" instantly and survives 80+ openings without visible wear. Add a 1-line tagline beneath the logo in silk-screen.

If you sell at $60–$150 retail price

Embossed logo with optional gold foil interior stamp. The unboxing moment justifies the +USD 200 die fee spread across your order. This is also where boutique jewelry brands start moving up to woven jacquard covers — book style variant D.

If you sell at $150+ retail price or run a heritage brand

Woven jacquard. Your logo becomes part of the cover fabric, not just printed on it. Visible from a meter away. Most distinctive packaging we make.

The artwork checklist before you send

  1. Vector file (AI / PDF / EPS). PNG / JPG works for silk-screen, not for foil or embossed.
  2. Single-color logo for foil / embossed (we can do multi-color foil but cost scales).
  3. Clear call for "logo only" or "logo + tagline line".
  4. Brand color in Pantone (we'll match if order is 300+ pieces).
